Information Architecture: Wireframes
lines design only

Wireframes

are blue-prints for web pages. They are used as informational guides that specify elements within the page layout and navigation.

Wireframes

can be sketches or more formally designed. Sometimes WireFrames are created as web pages with active links in order to test the pages for usability before the final comps are created.

Wireframes

help you view page information in the layout format and make changes if necessary. Seeing a visual layout of the page rather than a list of information gives both you and your client a better feel for how the various elements within a page relate to each other and whether or not information needs to be added, moved or deleted.

WireFrames

should tell where you are (page title), what is going on (descriptions of the information), what activites you can perform (forms etc) and where you can go from that particular page (navigation). You also need to indicate any area that will remain open for advertiments.
